Tarantulas

Tarantulas are the largest spiders living on Earth today, growing to sizes that intrigue some people and terrify others.
We have curly hair tarantulas and are usually found in Central America including Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Recently the species has been split into two distinct breeds with Honduran curly hairs in one and Nicaraguan/Costa Rican in the other. They can get to be 3-4 inches long with a leg span of 5-6 inches.

Camilla
Camilla is one of 2 curly hair tarantulas that live here at the sanctuary. She arrived in 2023 when her owner had become scared of her due to her growth.
Camilla is very gentle and can be held but only by people that are calm and able to not overreact as she can move fast if spooked.
