ANIMALS NEEDING A HOME

proof of set up required

We understand we cannot keep every animal we rescue and some would benefit from being with someone who can offer more time.

If you are interested in offering any of the on this page a forever home please do get in touch.

We will insist on seeing a suitable set up for the animal.

We don't set a rehoming fee but do ask for a donation to help cover costs and help us continue the work of the rescue.

Sammy the Hermann’s tortoise

Gorgeous boy Sammy the tortoise came into the sanctuary in 2022 when he was no longer wanted by his owner.  Tortoises are a life long commitment due to their extremely long lives.

Sammy is roughly 3 years old so isn't old enough to live outside or hibernate yet (the advice is usually years old for both).

We would recommend a tortoise table for the time being then an outside enclosure when he is older. We keep ours inside all year round but then days outside when the weather is warm enough. Tortoises can become targets for rats and foxes so you need to bear that in mind.

You can read about their needs here.

Mice

We have a selection of mice at various stages of their lives all looking for forever homes.

Mice are small rodents and very active more so at night and around dawn and dusk.

Mice love building nests to help them regulate their body temperature, and they're sensitive to light and noise. They move very quickly, so you'll need to handle them carefully so as not to hurt them!
