Bearded dragons are primarily found in the dry habitats of Australia. They are expert climbers and they spend much of their daylight hours on rocks and branches.
​
The bearded dragon lives up to its name: Like a dragon, it’s equipped with an armor of spiny reptilian scales, which include a “beard” of spikes under its chin that puffs up depending on its mood. There are eight different species of bearded dragons which are affectionately called “beardies.”

This handsome boy actually came to us to stay while his owners were on holiday. On return they had a
change in circumstance and asked if we would consider giving him a forever home here with us. We had become very attached to him during his stay so it was an east decision to let him stay.

He is missing a large section of his tail but he doesn't let this stop him and he is by far the quickest beardie here at the sanctuary.
