Volunteer

Join our dedicated team as a volunteer! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to take on the challenge of weekly manual work, including cleaning out enclosures. Please note that this role requires full mental and physical fitness, as conditions can be warm, smelly, or dusty. If you're able to follow instructions and safety protocols while working independently, we would love to hear from you

 

All applicants must be 16+

 

The current areas we are looking for help with are:

 

REPTILES

We have a range of reptiles here at the sanctuary that all need constant care. This can range from bathing, feeding and cleaning their enclosures. Many of the species require being fed live bugs so you must be ok with that side of reptile husbandry. Some experience with reptiles would be necessary.

Days required: Wednesdays or Fridays

 

GUINEA PIGS

We currently have over 20 rescue guinea pigs living here at the sanctuary. We are looking for a guinea pig lover to help with various husbandry tasks such as nail clipping and hair brushing along with helping to keep their enclosures clean. We have guinea pigs of all ages and stages of their lives so they do need someone patient and caring to help them with their lives here at the sanctuary.

Days required: Wednesdays

 

PAINTING and UPKEEP OF ENCLOSURES

With enclosures both indoors and outside we are constantly rebuilding and updating them and so painting is often required.

Days required: Wednesdays or Fridays​
