Volunteer

Volunteering here at the sanctuary is something we do offer however we do ask that anyone getting in touch fully understands that this will be mostly cleaning out enclosures (which can often be warm, smelly or dusty) so full mental and physical fitness is required

It is always very busy here so applicants must be able to follow instructions and safety protocols whilst being able to work without assistance.

Applicants must be ok with all different types of species ranging from large bugs, reptiles to mammals and birds.

We do insist that volunteers can offer a minimum of 1 day a week Monday-Friday.

You must be 16+ to volunteer and be able to commit to a weekly week-day session. No experience is required however it is preferred

Daily tasks here at the sanctuary are:

- Feeding various species different diets including live bugs

- Cleaning various enclosures

- Cleaning basic areas of sanctuary such as floors and outside enclosures

- Checking animals over to make sure everything is as it should be

- Making enrichment and giving this to animals

- Sitting with nervous animals and new arrivals

- Checking enclosures over for any signs of deterioration or destruction by the animals.

- General assisting with animals
