How many participants can attend?
Celebrations and parties
We have a maximum of 15 children which we are strict about. Unfortunately due to some parents lying about numbers we will obviously need to stop the animal encounter when this happens.
Care settings
We have a maximum of 20 residents per session.
Educational settings
These can be in class sizes with a max of 30.
How much notice do I need to give you to book a visit?
Our sessions book up generally up to 3 months in advance so you should always give us as much notice as possible to when booking your visit.
How much time does it take you to set-up?
We only really need 5-10 minutes to fully set up.
How much space do you need?
Celebrations and parties
For birthday parties and celebrations we need space for the children to sit in a circle allowing room for parents, us and the animals.
Care settings
Assisted animal therapy sessions can take place anywhere where there is room for the residents to feel comfortable - a care home lounge is perfect.
Educational settings
We require enough room for children to sit in a half circle. We will talk from the centre of the circle and and round each participant. Alternatively, we are able to stand in front of a class and place the animals on the children’s desks.
Can I choose which animals we meet?
When you fill in a booking form you will be able to select the species in the form of a ‘wish list’ however we can’t always guarantee specific animals will attend your event.
Do I pay a deposit?
Once we have received your booking form we will send you information on the deposit - only once this is paid will your booking be finalised.
When is the remainder paid?
Either before or on the day of the event.
Can the animals bite or scratch?
Like all animals our rescue animals can bite or scratch. However, we will be with each animal to ensure that it is handled correctly to minimise stress. For further information please see our risk assessment.
