Welcome to Our Sanctuary

In the heart of Scaynes Hill, West Sussex, you’ll find a sanctuary with a difference — a safe and loving home for many rescued animals, each with their own unique story to tell.

Founded in 2015, our self-funded sanctuary was created in response to a simple but urgent need: to provide a place of safety for animals who might otherwise be overlooked, forgotten or left without the care they deserve.

Our home is as unique as the animals who live here. Dating back to 1856, this historic building has served its community as both a school and a church. Today, it has been given a new purpose — as a place of rescue, recovery and hope.

Since opening our doors, we have rescued, cared for and rehomed countless animals, giving each one the individual attention, kindness and respect they deserve. For those who remain with us, the sanctuary offers a safe and loving place to call home.

But our work goes beyond rescue. Where this building once educated generations of young people, it continues that tradition in a new way — helping visitors of all ages learn about animal welfare, responsible care and the importance of compassion towards all living beings.
