Who is Liza?

Liza is a disabled pigeon who now calls our sanctuary home.

​

Her life had a very difficult beginning. When she was young, Liza was pushed from her nest and badly injured, leaving her with a broken wing and a broken leg. Sadly, further scans revealed that she also has a twisted spine.

​

Because of her spinal condition, surgery to repair her leg and wing wasn’t possible. But that certainly hasn’t stopped Liza! ❤️

​

Today, she’s safe, loved and living her best disabled life with us at the sanctuary. She has shown just how much determination can fit inside one little pigeon.

We want to give Liza even more freedom and independence by providing her with a specially designed wheelchair. Her new wheels could help her move around more comfortably, explore her surroundings and enjoy a better quality of life.
